"People Don't 'Fail' in MLM"

One of the most common questions I get from new network marketers (also known as MLM) is...
"Why am I not getting results from my leads and other marketing/prospecting efforts?"
The truth is -- you ARE getting results.
There are 3 realities you must remember in network marketing...
1. Automation takes most of the "work" out of building a business.
Even though on the surface it may look like nothing is happening (nobody is calling or emailing you to ask questions about your opportunity), a lot is happening behind the scenes.
Many people will not contact you at all until they have been receiving your autoresponder messages for 2 months or longer. Why? Theyve often been burned before, and it takes time for them to begin to trust that youre not like all the rest.
However, results ARE happening...every message they have received from you helps to build and reinforce their trust in your opportunity as well as in you as a sponsor.
2. Network Marketing is a "numbers game."
You have to introduce a lot of people to an opportunity to find the few who are:
- Interested NOW.
- Ready to start NOW.
- Disciplined enough to SEE IT THROUGH.
In real numbers, that means until you have at least 400 leads in your database, you will probably see very little activity. Even with a large database, the activity may seem small.
For example, at the time of writing this article, I have a database of approximately 20,000 leads. Every day, I receive 2-7 phone calls and/or emails from people who are interested in more information about my opportunity.
This may seem like very little activity to you...but, each week, I enroll 1-5 new members into my program. That translates into a very nice residual income in a relatively short period of time.
The quicker you can build your leads database, and the more consistent you are in contacting and following up with your prospects, the faster you will build an organization and get into profit.
3. It takes TIME to build a profitable business.
As with any type of business, a network marketing business takes a while to build income and momentum.
Your first month or two, you may not enroll anyone into your opportunity. However, if you consistently build your database, and you consistently make contact and follow-up with your prospects, by your 3rd or 4th month you should be enrolling at LEAST one new member each month.
It can take anywhere from 6-12 months for the average person to build a network marketing business that earns enough to cover their monthly investment WITH MONEY LEFT OVER.
Be patient.
Once the momentum begins, a network marketing business grows faster and faster as time goes on. And, the good news is...even if you only enroll one person every month -- and everyone in your organization does the same -- youre still right on track to earning an annual five- to six-figure income by your 4th year...for your part-time effort!
You see, people dont fail in Network Marketing...they QUIT. Dont be a quitter!
