FFAS: Stalwarts of the Internet
Category: Online Promotion | Date: 2001-11-22 |
There has been quite a bit of FFA "bashing" lately. It seems everyone is trying to knock down the importance of these Stalwarts of the Internet. Dont be too quick to push them aside.
Lets look at some basics.
One of the first things we do as an entrepreneural "newbie" on the internet is to jump on the FFA bandwagon. Where else can we have access to thousands of sites with the click of a mouse and basically no internet knowledge?
Lest we forget, there are estimated to be from 50,000-80,000 "newbies" logging on to the internet ,for the first time, every day. If just 5% of them are trying to start or find a business, thats 2500-4000 people advertising, or looking, for the first time, who will be using an FFA. Its almost guaranteed.
Is it worth your effort to potentially capture just one of these per day? You better believe it! Lets see what will happen to a team if everyone recruits just ONE PERSON A MONTH. In a years time, there are OVER 4000 PEOPLE on the team. Example below:
Month/total recruits
1/2 2/4 3/8 4/16 5/32 6/64 7/128 8/256 9/512 10/1024
11/2048 12/4096
See what happens if they recruit 2 or 3 per month. It gets really wild. Now imagine the same group just recruiting 1 person per day! Dont try to figure this for a years time, there arent enough zeros to go around!
So should we toss aside the FFAs? Absolutely NOT! USE THEM! Post to as many as you can, or, get your own FFA pages. Join as many as you can reasonably manage.
Remember, to capture the emails of the individuals posting, you will likely have to upgrade to a paid membership in the FFA of your choice. Its tax deductable, but thats another story.
Use their built in autoresponders, and if they dont have one get your own. Many of them are FREE.
There are many alternate means of using FFAs. You can turn off the automatic confirmation and send your own at a later time, you can use the response rate to test the effectiveness of a given advertisement headline. Using some of the available link tracking services, you can actually monitor the click thrus and really nail down the solid ad copy.
Use your imagination, Im sure you can find other ways to use this invaluable tool, just be sure to avoid "spamming".
Should you have any questions, I will try to answer them. Just send an e-mail with "FFA" in the subject Line and your question mail to: topdogs2x10@yahoo.com Please be patient as I usually have a full board to handle.
Enjoy yourself! Send out those responses. Get some Sign ups. They are out there!
