How many times have you heard the K.I.S.S. rule in sales? There are a few variations, but Keep it Short and Simple is is one most often shared.
Here's one K.I.S.S. rule I like to use in my business: It's my "KISS-up" rule meaning my Keep It Simple Secrets!
Designing all your advertising and promotions around this one simple rule will help you create a more active customer base.
If you use your Web Site as your main promotional tool, make sure every page is short and easy to read. Eliminate too much scrolling for your readers. Focus each message on its own page for the most effective results. Make sure navigation is not complicated.
Do you publish a newsletter? Make sure your Newsletter is short and easy to read! Subscribers are more likely to read it when they receive it if it isn't too long! Your readers will often scroll through it quickly to see if they have the time to read
it right away. If too long, they'll file it to read another time (maybe) or even worse, simply delete it!
Be sure your newsletter has a listing at the top of what's in store for them. Make the benefits clear and precise to keep their attention! Use words that entice such as "you won't want to miss..." or "for a limited time..." Using bold, underlining, or any other highlights draws attention while scrolling the message.
Your ads should be brief and to the point as well. Design them to attract just enough attention to direct them to your site or another message that will tell them more. Don't try to get them to eat the whole elephant in one bite!
Using frequent, short messages are far more effective than long drawn out essays that take more than 4-5 minutes to read! With today's consumers, that is almost a life-time! Remember this rule- always KISS-up to your customers!
