The Opportunity of a Lifetime

The New Millennium is upon us and we have an opportunity of a lifetime: No more New Year’s resolutions. Not New Decade resolutions.
Here is what we have before us:
New Millennium resolutions!
Wow. What a great and powerful moment in time to sit down and decide how the rest of your life will look like, what your relationships will look like, what your business will look like etc. So...
Use the power of the moment. Sure, the calendar year is completely arbitrary, made up thousands of years ago, but it still is perceived as a time in which we can forget the old and get on with the better and the new. Take advantage of that. Refocus. Change.
Two theories on how to best go about implementing change:
The Massive Action Theory. This is the theory that says the only way you will get to the point of change is to take massive action. Like going and dropping a thousand bucks on a home Stairmaster. Or to drop from smoking a pack of cigarettes a day to absolutely nothing. These are the massive actions that will motivate you to get going on the weight loss or stop smoking plan.
The Slow But Sure Theory. This says that the Massive Action plan is doomed to fail because you will feel overwhelmed by the mountain you have to climb. Instead, see where you want to go long term and begin with small baby-steps to get there. Drop from a pack of cigarettes to a half a pack a day.
But here is the most important theory:
Get going and keep moving in the right direction. Whether you start off with a massive action or just take baby steps, remember, your personal growth will only take hold if you get going and keep moving. Start small or start big but start!
Take some time this week to decide how the rest of your life will be lived, and then
Get going!
