Why Accomplishing Small Goals Will Make You Extremely Successful in Business

"Achieving success in business - what does it mean exactly? Most of the people will translate this phrase as :
To make big money
To have a nice living
To earn a lot
Success in business is usually compared with the material quality of life.
It is agreeable that the final outcome of your successful business will be an overall improvement of your financial status. Business generates cash and part of this money will be yours, for your pleasure. To get to the point of wealth you should first think about your business and not about yourself when it comes to money issues.
Why?
Business is created purely to make money. Business has no feelings, no emotions, no compassion. Business is an act of generating money. In this light, your business will exist, function and prosper only when it has money. It does not need to eat, it does not need to sleep 8 hours a day - all it needs is MONEY for its survival.
Standing behind a successful business is a human being, - you. You have feelings, you have emotions and your life will never be just money. You have higher qualities of life to consider than your business. Your company does not hate, does not love, does not desire, does not like or dislike - you do.
You give your business what is human, - spirit, creativeness, perseverance, cravings etc. Business gives you what it is all about, which is MONEY. Both of you coexist in harmony and both of you need each other badly.
You are the one who has the leverage: you can exist without your business, it cannot exist without you. This is the answer to the question whether money or human spirit is more important? Of course the latter. After all, people created money and not vice versa.
Success in business means nothing more than being able to transfer your human attributes on to your business. This way your business will start to reflect who you are, what your self-esteem and integrity is. Your business will reveal your true picture. That is why you should start to work on yourself first: to gain self-respect, to be happy with yourself, to believe in yourself.
You would be wrong in thinking that high integrity is a genetical attribute and all people can be divided into STRONG and WEAK. To believe in yourself and ultimately transfer this quality on to your business is easier than you think.
It starts with repairing small problems around yourself and showing by this way that you can fix them. You do not require any money to correct many aspects of your life for better and to build everlasting high self-esteem. It could be anything imaginable and depends on what you perceive as a goal to a happier life or a problem to be fixed. It is very individual. Let me give you a few examples of what you can achieve easily and with permanent improvement to your integrity. (The examples below are not rules to follow. It all depends on how you feel about an unfinished and problematic situation, habit, trouble. If you, in your conscience , do not feel happier about NOT fixing it, then don’t bother. It does not have to apply to your situation. But who nowadays is without something to be fixed?)
1. Have you ever thought about being more involved in sport? You see these people jogging in the morning or evening and you would like to be like them. So DO IT. Why don’t you do it? If you think that it will make you feel better, do not hesitate but try now. Business is also about trying - especially if it costs nothing.
2. Do you have unsolved matters with your friends? Something unpleasant, leaving both sides in doubts about each other? Do you realize what kind of courage you show if you volunteer to fix such a problem? In 90% of cases you will not be rejected (as experts say) and you will regain lost friendship. Business needs initiative and courage - start exercising it if you have a chance.
3. Do you have any argumentative issue in the family? Do you realize that your partner is the best asset you will ever have, the best support for you and your business? Fix anything immediately and you will see happiness and gain encouragement from the closest ones. Your business needs a boss with strong family support.
4. Do you have a bad habit like drinking, smoking, overeating or any other? Do you feel ashamed of not being able to stop it? Alcoholics Anonymous says: First Things First. They understand what is the most important in their life to achieve any kind of success. Do you realize how much of satisfaction, enjoyment and strength you can gain by overcoming your habit? Business needs your strong character, so give it to your business.
5. Do you have debts? Well, it needs money to pay them off, but requires nothing except courage to contact your creditors and speak to them. You will automatically feel better, relieved, stronger, although no money has been paid back! I do not suggest that you should stay in debt and mislead creditors - just make a plan with them and stick to it. Your business does not need to be buried in debts by an irresponsible boss.
There are many unfinished jobs in our lives, many small messes which need to be fixed, many goals which can be achieved easier than earning millions of dollars. By attending to them you gain self-respect and high integrity. These attributes you project automatically on your business which will be as successful in generating money as you are successful in building up your self-esteem.
Success in business means to be able to give your business the highest human attributes.
So start with yourself and THEN make your business as successful as you are. And it will be. And it will bring you what the business is for: MONEY.
