Increase Your Sales With Fax Marketing - 5 Tips

Last year, Stephanie Thomas in Birmingham, Alabama tripled her sales by sending out monthly fax blasts.

Last month, Rock Calloway in Denver Colorado got three new accounts by using fax marketing.

Even though results are often better using direct mail marketing, the time and money saved with fax marketing is a major consideration.

Five Tips

If you haven’t tried fax marketing, here are some tips:

1. Use a one-page marketing flyer with a BIG Bold headline listing a benefit or limited time offer sale.

2. Include a graphic and don’t put too much text on the page. You want the flyer to be easy to read.

3. Save time and money by outsourcing to a company that specializes in fax marketing. (We use Cynet and the cost to send faxes in the U.S. is 11 cents per page with a one-time activation fee of $99.00 to set up your account. Cynet telephone number: 1-800-964-2963.)

4. Be sure to put a disclaimer at the bottom of your fax reading something like: "If you have received this fax in error or would like to have your name removed from our fax list, please call. . . ." and list your telephone number, or a "fax back to" number. Many states in the U.S. have laws against "junk fax" which include fines.

5. After some of your prospects call or fax back to request that their name be removed from your list, BE SURE to remove it or you will make an enemy. You may even be fined.

Add Value: Be an Information Source For Your Customers

From time to time, I’ll bet you get calls from customers who are looking for older typewriter, calculator or printer ribbons. You can offer this extra service to your customers – and add more value to what you provide. Here are three sources of information available:

Chuck has been in the office equipment supplies business for years and is very knowledgeable about ribbons of all types. The ERL Software cross-reference program is used by resellers and distributors all over the world.

2. Call Lena Albright at TRI Guide. 303-465-3134
Lena maintained the Aspen cross-reference Guide from the mid-eighties until January ’91.She also maintained the cross-referencing information in the Nu-Kote Encyclopedia from December ’91 to August of ’98. TRI Guide is the cross-reference guide now used by many who used the Aspen or Nu-Kote Guide in the past.
