Buy Keywords on Pay-Per-Click Search Engines
Category: Search Engines - Keywords | Date: 2003-06-12 |
You already learned that you should list your site with the major search engines. But it may take some time until this action bites.
Now you need some instant traffic. This traffic needs to be inexpensive because you will not know what is working and what is not working.
This is where pay-per-click search engines come in. From them you will get instant traffic. Usually not thousands per day but enough to have sufficient date for all the following activities.
Basically it works like this: You write your own title and description and select a keyword or keyword-phrase. You pay (or better bid) for these keywords.
You determine where you rank for your keywords.
The more you pay, the higher the ranking.
But attention:
Not the number one rank gets the most visitors. You have to appear near the top but not necessarily at the top. There is not a big difference between number 1 and number 5 or 10 concerning the amount of traffic.
As you already learned in the last lesson, your title and description are far more important. Consider the listing (title and description) of your web site as a classified ad. And it really is an Ad. You have to catch the surfers attention. If you keep this in mind, you will get more visitors for much less money.
The main advantage with pay-per-click-engines: You can play around with your Keywords, Title, Description and with the content of your web site.
You get will instant results and can implement what you learned into subsequent actions.
I personally prefer Goto.com. They deliver the most traffic. But you may try out some smaller ones, too.
Payperclicksearchengines.com, http://www.payperclicksearchengines.com gives some good reviews on currently 38 pay per click engines.
Very important here is that you track all your actions. You need to make sure that you record what you are doing and sort out what is successful.
I suggest that you get a tracking program. Most of the tracking programs out there are quite complicated. There is one program that I personally use. It is easy to implement and will track all you campaigns.
And it is dirt cheap. Most other tracking programs are very expensive.
And they do so many things that it takes you month do understand what they are doing. The result: wasted money, because you wont use the program.
So, do yourself a favor and get a copy of adtrackz.
