Word of Mouth Marketing: Psst Pass it on!

Word of mouth marketing is one of the most powerful strategies there is. Why? If your mother told you what restaurant served the best apple pie ala mode in history wouldn't you go to that restaurant?
It all comes down to trust. We trust many people's opinions and value what they have to say. If they make a suggestion or recommendation, 90% of the time we take it!
My Marketing Professor once told us that if you have a good product or service, people will love to recommend it to their family and friends. But if you have a bad product or service they will tell 10 people who will tell 10 more who will tell 10 more and so on.
Word of mouth marketing is very powerful.
So what does this have to do with your ezine? Ask your readers to pass it on to a friend. If one day they find an issue with advice someone they know could use, they will forward it to them.
The person receiving the forward will take the Issue into consideration because someone they trust sent it to them thinking it would be helpful.
They read your Issue and find the advice useful. They decide they would learn much more by subscribing and click on your "subscribe" link. (which is why you need to put both subscribe AND unsubscribe in your Issues)
Viola! You've got a new subscriber!
You can also ask other publishers and website owners with similar content to your ezine to review your ezine. If they like it, ask them to recommend it to their subscribers too. You can recommend their ezine or website in exchange.
You've just developed a relationship using Joint Venture Marketing.
Here's a few tips to use Word of Mouth Marketing:
1. In every issue ask your subscribers to pass the Issue to friends
2. Always ALWAYS include both unsubscribe AND subscribe links.
3. Ask other well known people to review your ezine and recommend it.
4. Apply for ezine awards
5. Join a webring or two
6. Write a Press Release
7. Attach a signature to all your outgoing mail with a subscribe link.
8. Put a Tell-A-Friend form on your website
