Why Doesn’t Computers Get Bacterial Infections?
Date: 02/17/06
Keywords: virus
Why do we use "virus" to describe malicious replicating computer programs? Most of these programs are very complicated and intelligent (comparatively), which resembles more like a bacteria than a virus. Viruses are very simple organisms, very unlike todays "computer viruses".
We should really say bacterial and even fungal infections (hard and often dangerous to get rid [...]

Yahoo UI Library (JavaScript + AJAX) is Worth Looking
Date: 02/17/06
Keywords: java, web, yahoo
Yahoo released an UI library for web applications, developed using Javascript and AJAX.
It provides some nifty components like dual-calendar, tree, drag-and-drop, slidedrs etc.
Very much worth adding to your toolkit. Personally I found the performance somewhat sluggish.
DOJO is another alternative (better?).

With TestNG, Why Do We Need JUnit 4.0?
Date: 02/17/06
Keywords: no keywords
JUnit 4.0 finally adopted annotation based test identification, which TestNG has been doing for long, really long time.
TestNG support lower versions of JDK, whereas JUnit supports only JDK 1.5.
Can anyone tell me why would anyone in his right mind want to use JUnit 4.0 over TestNG?

I started using Chitika last year. However I soon realized that their offering was only suitable for product related sites.
Darren Rowse waxed eloquently about Chitika. He is the poster boy for Chitika. His sites are ideally suited for it. What about the rest?
Is anyone, with non-product related sites, using Chitika anymore?
I wonder how many [...]
