OE annoyance

After the client has opened a certain number of times Outlook Express will try and compress all stored email every time the client is closed, selecting cancel can bypass it but it will ask again until it's actually done - which is time consuming and generally grinds the PC in question to halt thereafter. Does anyone know of any way to override the compress option so that OE will never ask?

I'm well aware that Outlook Express is, in fact, evil. However for one machine I use it's the only option available.
