I am upset.

I dunno what causes it, but my computer has taken to turning itself off in the middle of sessions, forcing my system to return to default settings (including the clock going all the way back to 2002). Also, the sytem habitually freezes, forcing me to turn the thing off manually and rebooting.

What can cause these sorts of things and how to I locate the true culprit?

Windows XP, over 100 Gig HD's, etc. etc.
