Deleting Windows Vista on Dual Boot

Date: 10/14/07 (Computer Geeks)    Keywords: no keywords

I recently added XP to a Vista-only system at the request of an acquaintance and I would like to delete the original Vista partition and merge it with the current XP partition so as to have an XP-only system. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this or is this simply impossible? I was going to back up both the XP and Vista partitions and then try to format the Vista partition using the Windows XP install disk and then reload the bootloaders to the XP partition using the Windows XP install disk. Does this seem like it would work or will I break the computer forever doing this (or at best waste a lot of time?)

    Thanks for any suggestions!
