Translating a website

    Hello!

I've recently had someone request that I send them a sample site of their English website, translated into Spanish. Translation is much more my nitch than web design. So, I took the source HTML from the site, plugged it into PageBreeze, and got to work translating. Soon enough, I found that PageBreeze was taking all of my accented characters (á, é, ñ) which I typed with alt codes, and making them boxes (in Trebuchet font). There were even times in between saving, previewing and editing that the editor would completely omit such characters. Strangely enough, whenever I typed the characters into the rich-text editor (as well as the html editor), they would show up correctly without a problem; they would only be boxes in the IE preview. Soon enough, PageBreeze stopped working at all, and I found Coffee Cup, or something like that (If you haven't yet caught on, my budget is less than fortunate), which also did basically the same thing.

However, when I found a web-based html editor (I've forgotten the URL) which automatically updated my preview as I was typing, the accented characters were correct.

SO... If anyone can help me, this is what I want to do: Take the html document I have (saved in Word) for the website translated into Spanish, and turn it into an html... Internet Explorer... viewing... file... (What would one call that?) Which I can owner to the owner of the website, so that when he opens it, it will give him an exact preview of the site in Spanish.

Thank you for weeding through my lack of technical knowledge :x and I GREATLY appreciate any help you can offer!
