External enclosure help

Well I'm new around here and I'm in need of help.

I recently purchased a Vantec NexStar2(NST-355UF) USB 2.0/Firewire HD external enclosure. I read all the reviews and found almost everyone saying that it works perfectly, it's stylish, and the enclosure stays cool to the touch. Well so far it hasn't been cool to the touch. I expected it to be a little warm but after a few minutes of use it was burning hot and I assume if it wasn't for the plastic casing it would be even hotter. I have a brand new Maxtor Ultra16 250GB, 7200RPM, Internal ATA/133 Hard Drive, also purchased a couple days ago, in it. Is there possibly something wrong with my HD or do should I just try to get an enclosure with a fan built in?

Also if you are thinking it's an air circulation problem, I had a fan blowing right at it in an air conditioned room and it was still a bit warm. Not burning hot but it still concerns me that it was hot.

Edit: I found a company that sells an enclosure that recommends a fan for 7200rpm drives. Although after posting this I left it on for an hour and watched some videos off of it and it wasn't that hot. What should I do now...
