i know this isn't an HTML question, but if someone could help, i'd be very thankful.


i've seen many layouts with an image from kurt halsey and i want to make one, but the thing is, i don't know how to save the image onto my computer. usually i just right click and copt, but his site uses macromedia flash player and i can't get the image. any help as to how to save it would be greatly appriciated.


p.s. his site says that his images can be used for personal projects and websites, so it wouldn't be anything bad to use it.

Hello all.
I'm new to this community, yet I've had livejournal a few years. Yet, I'm still completely dumb when it comes to overrides. I've looked through this entire community, how to community, liek 6 other communities, and the lj FAQ. And I can't seem to find the over ride for making the entire layout Transparent. I found a few things but I either can't figure out where to put them in or anything like that. And I'm not sure if theres a place where I can find a way to put in the override without messing up my layout more then it already is.

I have a background i've created for my journal. how can i get it to stretch across and down to fill the screen instead of being over only a fourth of the screen? the bg i created is 1024x768 but it only fills the top left corner. can someone help me?

Hi there, I need some help with my layout!!

Basically, I am happy with the layout I currently have, but not with the entry layout.
My main journal is ohmanifesto and I want my entries to look like that, not how they do right now.
The only difference I want is; the entry borders to be solid rather than dashed, and at a weight of 2px.
And, of course, for my entries to be centered not right aligned.

If anyone could help, I would be so grateful it's untrue.

can someone tell me how to put everything in a box? like a boc in the middle of the page with the scroll bar on the box and not on the side of the screen? sorry if that doesnt make sense.

EDIT: and how do you make it so when you go over a link or like anything click-able, ya know, a picture shows up behind it. now just like one link but all of them on a page? i dont think that made much sense either.

Okay, so I redid my LJ and I added new stuff to it, but now my calander isn't showing up... Is there a html code for it?, because in my override box (because I'm lame and still use the S1 style), I don't see anything referring to the calander...

Does anyone know the code to make your pictures go by slowly, kind of like a really really REALLY slow movie reel, so you can look at as many pictures as you want with out scrolling down, they scroll by themselves from left to right.

Does anyone here use Textwrangler for making websites? Is there a way to download one for a PC (because I think this program is for Mac)? I am trying to finish an assignment at home, but I don't have Textwrangler. All I need are the tags which Textwrangler gives you when you create a new document. These tags are html beginning and end tags, head tags, as well as meta and something else, I think. I need these tags for my website to be validated by http://validator.w3.org

Whenever I try to use Notepad or Microsoft Frontpage to make a website, it never validates. There is always something wrong with the meta tags or encoding tags--things like that.

i need to make four columns, but i'm table-impared. i would prefer them to be in percents, so they will look the same on all browsers, as in width: 100% in stead of width: 600px. the column content will just be short lj tags if its any matter.

I'm working on a site for a multimedia arts & science course.

I work in IE 6.0, but my professor will be checking the design in Safari. The project isn't due until Friday... and I asked him about it, and he said "don't worry about it" (aka, "I don't know"- my professor isn't the brightest crayon in the box)... so even though I'm not going to get points off for this... I just want to know for my own sake... it's DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!

In IE the container div goes all the way to the bottom of the page... however, in Safari there is a gap between the bottom of the div and the page. Is there any way to get rid of this gap in all browsers?

I'm wanting to change the font of the date displayed on my entries. I want the name of the day to be a different color, in caps, and a different size, and I want the actual date with the year and everything to be under the name of the day, lowercase, a different size and color. I've looked for the override to do this, but can't find it anywhere. Can anyone give me the overrides for this?
