Okay, my school offers webspace to all students, which is really kewl, cuz we can have our own websites without the hassle of purchasing a domain and what-not. Anyway, the folders in the site can't be viewed by anyone. I've seen somewhere before that you could bypass this by uploading an .htaccess file into the directory with certain instructions in it. Does anyone here know how to do this? Anyone know the code to use?

Could someone provide me with some html code for this?

#1: I would like to make a html form on a website that would create new pages from that form containing that form's information. (Very simple html form code of some sort. I've done this in the past, but forgot how to do it.)

#2 (much more complicated. If it requires outside software other than java, forget it.): I would like to make a html form on a website that would create new pages that look identical to the original form, but with the blanks and buttons replaced with the form data submitted. Ideally, you would NOT be able to click any radio button or place a blinking cursor in any blank already filled with information.

I need the code for making the header text box in a journal (the place where it says info/calender/etc) just a simple, horizontal box with words in it. And I also need to know how to create another table for my user icon somewhere... I don't have an example journal, but if anyone knows what I mean, please help! <3

Maybe not a "HTML" question per se, but how can I save my LJ user pictures? Everytime I go to save them, it saves them as bitmap, and not GIF, and they turn to an image. Any help is very much appreciated!

ok, so from browsing thru the entries in this community, i discovered the little thingie that i've been wanting to learn how to do is called a text box. EXAMPLE:

i wanted to learn how to do this. & i figured out its super easy.

^^ THAT thing. ok so here's what im curious to know: i've seen them in multiple sizes. usually they're small, but sometimes they're really big. how do you resize them? do you insert pixel #s? im just really curious because i'm starting my own community now & it would probably be very helpful to have this.

also, is there a way to change the background color/font/etc? would you do it as you normally would in a journal entry? thanks a ton to whoever helps me =) i really appreciate this!

Okay, I'm designing a site for a friend at www.twelve-oclock.com

For the most part, its going to be a simple website, so I'm not trying to get fancy with it. I decided using frames was a
decent way to handle this.

My problem is this.
My frames match up when I"m 800x600.
But I cant seem to get the frames to match up at the other resolutions.
I'd like it where the menu and the content are always underneath the
header graphic (which is 800 pixels long).

Is there something I'm forgetting here? Why is my context text starting so far over?
I'm sure its something small that I've forgotten, and I would be grateful for any pointers.

I don't know if anyone will help with this because it doesn't have to do with Live Journal but for MySpace for the blogs, is there anyway to make your background show through the entries? Umm I don't want them to be semi-transparent. I want to use opacity. Is that confusing? Thanks to anyone that can help me.

How do you change the colors of your scrollbar and do either transparencies or opacity so that Mozilla Firefox recognizes it? I am beyond tired of the same scrollbars. ;( I can change both for IE, but I can't figure it out for Firefox.
