  7. Question

    Date: 01/08/08     Keywords: php, html

Hi! Here's an issue I have:

This is one of the pages in my site. As all of them, it works perfectly.
Today, I made this one, and as you can see, it's not showing properly. There's not a problem in the php include because it was copied and pasted from another one of the files that does work.
I've tried saving it in all the possible formats... It's in Unicode currently, and it's the only way it'll show. When I save it in ANSI (the format all the other files are saved in) it will show a bunch of symbols and no page whatsoever.
I've also tried renaming the file, creating a new one, everything I could think of, but nothing works.

Anyone have an idea of what might me wrong?

I'll appreciate deeply any help you might give me =)

  9. CSS padding for bottom of page doesn't appear in Firefox

    Date: 01/06/08     Keywords: css, web

I have a question to do with CSS.

This is a preview of the site I'm working on: http://geocities.com/fionalam73/utsai/
    The CSS is here: http://geocities.com/fionalam73/utsai/css.css

I have been trying to create a space at the bottom of all the pages, so that there page doesn't just end straight away when the text ends. This space appears in IE, but not FF for some reason.

In the #content div (the right hand side), I have used a padding-bottom: 50px, but it is not working.

How can I put a space between the end of my website's content and the end of the page, using CSS?

I have tried applying padding and margins to the #content div and body, but it does not seem to be working in FF.

  11. Need help customizing LJ community

    Date: 01/03/08     Keywords: no keywords

Ok..  I'm trying to customize a journal for a community that is at the moment a basic account (and realy would like to stay that way or upgrade to a plus account).  We want to put a background image that will be on the left and have all the entries and such shifted to the right.  I've seen this done but not sure what layout style they used or wether or not it has to be a paid account to do it.

Would realy love some advice on this.  I realy like the "quite lickable" theme if only I could move everything over to the right it would be perfect.

    Hope someone can help,
    Hugs n snuggles

I have been trying to get a new livejournal layout for some time now, but it seems like no matter where I go, all the layouts dont work right. Or Im not doing it right. The colors and the style and such will show up, but the header and the picture wont show up.

    I dont understand this instruction:
"Please, please, PLEASE make sure you have a website defined before you complain about the header not working."
can someone explain how to do that and what it means?
If you dont understand what im talking about, the web link is below.

  14. Entry Scollbar

    Date: 12/13/07     Keywords: no keywords

I really hate it when large images stretch out my layout, so I'd like a scrollbar to appear horizontally when an image is wider than my entries. So far I've tried all sorts. I tried adding overflow-x: visible; overflow-y: hidden; to the .entrytext; but it didn't work. I also tried adding it to #entries{ and div.entry but that didn't work either. I'm working with a 3 column layout that I recently resized, if that helps.

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm going crazy here :/

  18. a sort of hit counter

    Date: 12/08/07     Keywords: web

hello, i'm looking for a sort of program that you paste into your website/blog.
    it's like a hit counter
but it tracks down how many people visit your website, and where they are coming from
(like which website they clicked to get into your website, etc.)
And i'm specifically looking for one that also tells you what country the visitor is from

can anyone recommend me any good ones?
i remember having one many years ago, and it was free too.

    thanks

  20. Embedding a Blog into a website?

    Date: 11/28/07     Keywords: web

Right now, I've got my livejournal embedded into my website, but I no longer wish to use it for updating my site as well as my journal. In order to separate them, I'm gonna need something to replace it on my site - so I thought I'd use a blogspot blog instead.

Here's my problem. I've got IE7 and it doesn't support ftp. (I'm pretty sure I've got an FTP program laying around; I can get it, not a problem) I only got as far as the ftp server in the advance part. I haven't used an actual ftp program in awhile, so I need to know what all to do.

I've been looking through FAQ's and all that, but it doesn't really explain it well enough. Unfortunately all the computer savy's around me have no idea how to deal with it either.

Does anyone here know how to do this?
