Friends Add Button and Admin Console help?
Date: 02/02/09
Keywords: no keywords
An RP I used to mod had a really cool code thing that I want to find out how to do.
Basically, to friend the people in the community, all you had to do was type in the username you were currently logged under into this box and it would add and remove people accordingly via what usernames were listed into the admin console.
If you're confused about anything I just said, just ask and I'll clarify myself. This is hard to explain but I'd love any help you can give me!

Can you possibly help me?
Date: 01/24/09
Keywords: web, microsoft
I don't know if you can help me but it's worth a try. I have a small website that I started working on last year. I didn't know much at all about how to go about it so I used Microsoft Publisher to create the pages I needed. Just a week ago I switched over to Dreamweaver on a Mac instead of a PC. It connected to my webhost and I was able to get the files but when I tried to upload the edited first page, It is not even recognized. My host is Dreamhost and most of the time their language is way over my head when I go to their site. Do you have any idea what ai should do so that I can begin to revise and update my site?

Making your layout show up on comment pages?
Date: 01/11/09
Keywords: no keywords
I'm really bad at explaining things, so I'll do my best here...
I've seen other people's livejournals that still show their layout when you click on a cut or view the comments. How do I get mine to do that? Because if you were to do that on my journal it's plain.
Thanks for your help, and sorry for the terrible explanation. D=
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out! :)

Two Header Images?
Date: 01/10/09
Keywords: no keywords
I am curious, is there any way to have two header images or have a footer at the top?
Okay, here is what I'm wanting (so you'll all have a vague idea of what I want)
I have a background image that I will be using, but I want two images on top of this background image. One, the larger one, on the left side of the journal, and then a more header esque image at the top.
I would like to avoid just slapping the left image(or even the header) on top of a bigger image for the background. The background image I have, I'd like for it to repeat, thus it wouldn't workout too well to have another image on top of it.
But I just really want to know if this is possible?
And if this is the wrong place to post this, let me know. I'm desperate!

Global LJ Changes

Not sure if this would be the right place to post this, but does anyone know if it is possible to change all past journal entries to "friends only" without doing it individually to each one?

changing background color in frames
Date: 03/20/08
Keywords: html
Hi all ~
I would appreciate any information you can offer me. I am new to HTML and am taking a class once a week to bring me up to speed. Our current project asks us to create a page divided into three frames - one at the top and two at the bottom. I have links in the right-hand frame that I want to target to the left-hand frame, but when clicking those links, I want the background color of the left-hand frame to change. This image should help to explain:
I've been Googling left and right trying to figure out how to do this, and can't figure it out. As a workaround, I ended up creating several .html files for the left-hand frame, each with their own unique background color that corresponds to the color I want to see when the right-hand link is clicked. I'm wondering if there's a better/more efficient way to do this. I tried something like this for my right-hand frame:
Red |
and that didn't get me anywhere. Can any of you direct me to a resource that will help me figure out how to do this? Or, can you not change the background color of the frame anywhere but within that frame's file?
I hope this makes sense! I am so new to HTML that I might be explaining this incorrectly, so please bear with me. I'm happy to provide more info if you need.

Paragraph help?
Date: 03/17/08
Keywords: no keywords
I have everything on my LJ bio centered. The paragraph in my bio spans the width of the page. I want it to have a more condensed "boxy" look (I hope that makes sense). How do I do this? Is indentation or margins the key, or would I need to use a style sheet?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Scrollbox.
Date: 03/17/08
Keywords: no keywords
I've been trying to add a scrollbox to my info page with random text. I have found codes, that isn't the issue. However, when I copy & paste the code into my Bio section nothing happens. To be more clear, this is what I'm trying so hard to do :
I would like the information inside the scrollbox to be copy-able but not altered in the box.
Basically, after inserting the code, the only thing that shows up is the text, not in the scrollbox - it basically just looks as if I added plain text to the info page.
Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help! I've got no clue why this has become so complicated for something so simple!

faster image loading
Date: 03/16/08
Keywords: html, web
Hello all, as this appears to be the most active html help community, I have decided to post here.
I recently redesigned the website for the stable that I ride at. (The old one was pretty dated.) It's fairly basic since I don't know many fancy tricks, but I do have a problem.
I was trying to get the look of frames on the page without using frames, since I've been told those are pretty outdated. So, I just stuck in a background images with the bars. Trouble is, I had to make the background image huge, so that when you scroll to the bottom, you don't encounter the end of the image. Likewise, in case the screen resolution settings are different, I also created extra space on the side. So, it's a pretty big image.
My only question is: is there a better way to achieve this look, or a way to make the background image load faster without losing the quality of the image?
Thanks very much for your time.

Userinfo Codes
Date: 03/08/08
Keywords: browser, css, google
I've googled this so many times, but I couldn't find a valid answer.
In my userinfo coding, the font tags specify the font size as 1. This bothers me because on some browsers, the text is pretty large.
I just want to specify the font size to 8pt, so it works on all browsers.
I've tried adding a CSS stylesheet, but it never seems to work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Is the font tags preventing the stylesheet from working?
Is there any way around this? Just wondering. If you'd like I can send the codes that I use, or you can view the source on my userinfo to see for yourself.
I really appreciate anyone who can help me, and sorry to be so much hassle! I know it's silly to be so concerned with a font size. But I would greatly be in appreciation to anyone who reads this and offers help.
Again, THANK YOU!

A little help over here! =)
Date: 03/05/08
Keywords: no keywords
Hello!
So, I just redid my journal, (still using S1, because I like that kind of control. Ha!) and I have a question.
If you go to my journal, right above my entries is this blank box. As far as I know, it's the box that would normally hold my icon and navigation links. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to get rid of it all together. I've tried all sorts of stuff. It's basically my one (annoying) problem when I redesign my journal without premades. So my question would be: Is there any way I can get rid of this box as a whole?
And, while I'm at it, is there any way to fix your sidebar so that it doesn't scroll with the entries? I tried just doing a "sidebar-attachment: fixed;" thing (as I would with a background image), but that apparently isn't the answer.
Thanks a lot!

Please help me out with this.
Date: 03/02/08
Keywords: no keywords
I was wondering how I would go about adding a sidebar, inside my journal - not outside of it in another div. A div inside, right next to my entries.
I know how to make the space for the div - by lowering the width of the entries, and leaving the layout size the way it is. I just have no idea waht to do after that.
If it helps, you can view my source to get an idea of what my layout contains.
Sorry if this doesn't seem to make sense, but help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks so much!

Get error message that this command takes two arguments. Consult the reference in admin console
- Go to the admin console. - Type in moodtheme_create amelie and press execute. - You'll get a moodtheme id - don't forget it! Save it, write it down. - Open the code and paste it into MS Word/Notepad/whatever. - Do a find/replace to replace all the 13307s with your moodtheme id. - Copy the newly changed text and paste it into the admin console. - Go to Modify Journal and select the Amelie theme.
