Form spiffing up

I am trying to revamp a form, where I have a drop down selection list of N items. I want to have a description/paragraph pop up if someone chooses a item from the selection show up in some predefined area. I have yet to see this happen, and I cludged up this :

    Untitled

but I do not like the fact that I am using a textbox to do it (looks weird that people might want to type there); any recommendations?
