fiddling with parameters in a query

Date: 05/24/07 (Javascript Community)    Keywords: google

Hiya all, I've searched and browsed and I can't find the answer to this, so hope you can help.

I have a query form and I need to stick some more content into value parameters before sending it off to the search engine (Google Mini in this case). I know the names and index positions of the textfields, and I've figured out how to do onsubmit, but I can't seem to get the existing values nor set those parameters.

Has anyone done this kind of thing before? I'm hoping it's dead-easy and I'm just being a confused newbie.

    many thanks in advance,

    Avi
