Trojaner found --> Emails gone...

    Hi!

    My father uses Mozilla Thunderbild 1.0. He was going to read E-Mails today, he logged in, but after a downloading the E-Mails the Anti-Virus (AntiVir Personal 6, updated today) said a trojaner has been found (can't remember which it was). After clicking on OK (the affected file would be deleted) and after restarting Thunderbird, all E-Mails in the Incoming-folder were gone! Okay, my father said they weren't that important.

    But what could happened with them? Can they be restored? I guess there was a Trojaner in one of the E-Mails.

    I tried to install the latest version 1.0.2, but there isn't a german version yet (my father doesn't know english).
