"TLS not supported by server"

is the error I'm getting when I try to send mail from my gmail account.

I configured everything the way it said to at gmail's help center. It's checking mail just fine.

What authentication am I supposed to be using?

Edit: Changing the port # to the second option gmail offers for stmp seems to have solved the problem.
