Date: 07/15/08 (Software) Keywords: no keywords Hi folks I was wondering if this can be done. I have a original WinXP CD that I'm trying to install on my comp (ASUS P4C800 Deluxe) For whatever reason whenever I try to install XP it just gets to the Blue screen with windows setup in the top left corner and doesn't go any further. I've left it for whole days and it doesn't do anything more. I think its something to do with SATA and WinXP. Can I install XP to a IDE drive in the same system then just copy over the fresh install onto a SATA drive and boot from the SATA drive? I know its long winded but at the moment thats the only way i can see of getting XP onto my SATA drives. I have no clue about updating my Bios which I'm probably thinking is something that may help or may not but I'm not wanting to run the risk off killing my machine completely with broken Bios as it hasn't been updated since I built it 5yrs ago. Is it possible to just install XP on a IDE drive, copy over to SATA drive and use the SATA drive as boot/system drive? Source: http://community.livejournal.com/software/79555.html
