Hello & Help?

Hi everyone, this my first post here so if this is a redundent question etc. I apologize in advance.

I've be designing web sites for a little bit now (Digital Video is my true specialty though), however it's been mostly from the "artistic" standpoint, thus I'm playing catch-up now to learn things like CSS etc. so the websites I work with are functional as well as pretty!

A client I'm woring with now wants me to redesign his site which in the end is 50+ pages. So, I was wondering what would be the easiest/best way to make a basic page layout and only have to update one file (instead of 50) to change links and or navigation. I thought this maybe could be done with and external CSS however it seems like that deals more with text etc. and not tables. Again sorry if this is too newbie, and thanks in advance for any suggestions.
