Radio Button to Show/Hide Layers.

I have a series of radio-input buttons like

    Cats
    Dogs
    Fish
    Lizards

What I'd like to do is when you select 'Cats', it shows a layer with additional information - but if you switch to Dogs, it then hides the Cats layer; and shows the information specific to Dogs. I've got something like this working in a Dropdown menu - but the client insists on using radio buttons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. JavaScript and I don't get along too well.
