FTP access

This isn't so much web design related as much as data transfer... I'm trying to figure out the best way to solve this issue.

My client has a PC with a few hundred scanned photos on it that need to make their way to my machine. I tried the obvious, burning the files onto a CD, but my mac won't read the CDs that their PC burns no matter what the settings are.

My two ideas are 1) I can download an FTP client on their computer to get the photos to my server and then on to my mac, or 2) there must be some way to connect the two machines, via USB or Firewire?

Any insight on either of these methods would be super helpful. I'd much rather not download a new program onto their computer since they're luddites and a little scared by things like that.
