Just wondering why everything aligns correctly in FF but not in IE on the pc side.

I have it set up with a nifty image switcher thing (technical term yes i know!)

but i have the image taged with an id liek this:

#placeholderprint {
padding:0px 0px 5px 30px;
}

with 30px as the left padding. IE does not seem to recognize this. Why?
