The joys of a Windows server (or lack thereof)

Okay, so here's the deal. I just want to set up a subdomain that redirects to a subdirectory on the same domain. If this were a Linux server I know I could do this quickly in an .htaccess file with redirect prompts but it's a Windows 2000 server, and I can't configure it with IIS because I don't have the discs that can install additional networking services to the server via Remote Desktop Connection.

Is there another way to accomplish this? It seems terribly easy in theory but has been a huge pain instead. Thanks!
