Hello, my name is Lindsay and I am not new to this community...but more like a lurker ;) I currently work as the online editor/webmaster for my city's newspaper, and I do a lot of freelance web and graphic design on the side.
Recently I was asked by a neighboring county's city board to construct an informational website for them from scratch....design, logos, coding and all. This project will more than likely come out to no more than 20 or so pages, and basic layout/design scheme with all artwork done by myself.
I was instructed to let them know what my charges are...and I am at a loss. I am still in the transitional period where I am still getting used to being PAID for my efforts (not just making the trade for services and portfolio material)...and I have little knowledge of the fair market value on a professional website such as this.
Any suggestions?
They also asked me to name my rate for weekly/monthly updates needed. Where I will be paid that rate per hour for the time it takes me to drive to the county (15 mins), the time it takes me to finish the updates and maintenance, and the drive home.
Please help!
