Cookies help
Date: 01/20/09
(Mozilla) Keywords: browser, web, yahoo
My Firefox recently, yesterday, shit itself and refuses to store my cookies. It deleted all my cookies for staying logged into websites, all my blogs and e-mail sites, etc. I put them in and when I close and reopen the browser they are forgotten.
Here are the details:
-I'm running FF3 on Windows XP Home. I've had M3 for months now.
-Recently I installed WeatherWatcherLive and Peer Guardian2. I have since uninstalled PeerGuardian2 and restarted the system to no avail.
-I logged on yesterday to find all my sites had logged me off, but the saved passwords and saved form data I had for them were still there.
-The settings are still the same, 'keep cookies until they expire' when I close FF and open it again all the cookies are gone.
-I have attempted to click all the "keep me logged in" options but they did nothing. In fact, I'm looking at the page info for my yahoo and it's telling me that I haven't visited the page before today, when I just signed in 4 minutes ago and then closed the browser.
-I looked it up and tried to recover a lost profile; that failed. Then I tried starting in Safe Mode and tell it to begin with original settings; that failed too.
I'm hoping something can be done short of a clean reinstall.
Help please, if you can.

Problems with Yahoo login and/or Yahoo groups?
Date: 05/29/08
(Opera Browser) Keywords: yahoo
Somehow or another, I got signed out of Yahoo Groups, and now, I can't sign in because I can't get past the sign-in page. I sign in with my username and password, and get taken right back to the sign-in page. I use Proxomitron, but it happens whether or not proxy servers are enabled. What's even odder is that it happened when I tried to switch to View All from my main Groups page.
I can still use mail and "My Yahoo", and I can sign in to groups with Firefox, so it's not a problem with my username or password.
Anyone else seeing anything like this?

Potentially inappropriate

(IT Professionals) Keywords: web, yahoo, microsoft
My post is mainly behind a cut because this is really a question for an IT Professional because I am not an IT Professional. Or at least I think it is a question for an IT Professional. Anyway, I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this.
My question involves Microsoft SharePoint 2007. The other important factor is that my question should be answered considering WSS and not MOSS. I appreciate anyone taking the time to answer this question.
I feel like I have exhausted the Microsoft TechNet SharePoint TechCenter and I'm looking for websites or books to help me understand SharePoint better. Ideally I would like an explanation and a step-by-step creation and configuration process for each of the creatable list, library, discussion board, survey, page or site. Example: document library, form library, announcements, project tasks, issue tracking, custom list, site and workspace.
While that is a more generalized request, my immediate goal is to solve this request: utilzing SharePoint 2007 I have been asked to create something like Yahoo!Answers where people can ask technical questions and the folks who answer them can be awarded points for correct answers and in this way earn a certain amount of prestige (and perhaps prizes). I was thinking of using Records Management or Issue Tracking but truthfully without being able to plug in data or pull data from a certain place, this is becoming difficult and frustrating.
Your help is greatly appreciated!

starting salary for a programmer with their masters?
Date: 02/18/09
(Computer Geeks) Keywords: yahoo
Does anyone know what average starting salary for someone with a masters degree in Computer Science should be for the New England area? I've checked Salary.com but I'm not sure how accurate it is and was hoping that some kinda programmer out there would be willing to offer what their starting salary was. I ask because my husband is in his final semester of his degree and the school would like to keep him there for an additional year for him to help a professor with something he is working on. The idea is he could take longer to finish his thesis and also gain some work experience for his resume. They asked him to tell them how much he would like for money for the assignment. He doesn't want to ask for to little but he also knows that the university has limited funds. If you are not comfy with sharing this info on here for everyone to see but would like to tell me you can e-mail me at wynkengirl@yahoo.com. Thank you!
I hope that the topic of this post is acceptable for this community- if not please delete this, and i apologize in advance!

Protesters outside Yahoo's Santa Clara Mission College Blvd building
Date: 03/12/09
(Computer Geeks) Keywords: yahoo, microsoft, google
I was turning on to Mission College Blvd on my way to work this morning and I saw some GIANT ANIMAL MONSTER BALOONS outside Yahoo's building.
I did a doubletake on the first baloon, then didn't think much of it for several seconds before I saw the second one. That was really comical since it was a big fat baloon CAT choking two baloon people LOL
Along with all that I saw some people picketing.
I searched the news and found that this is a part of the protest on net search censorship against the major search engines (Yahoo, Google, Microsoft):

Well that certainly made my morning.

select checkbox or select row
Date: 02/08/08
(Asp Dot Net) Keywords: database, yahoo
I need a grid where I can select a checkbox or select everything else in the row.
So I could select the checkbox and hit the delete button and the row is deleted in the database. Or I could click on one of the other columns in the row and the item is opened in another page. (Kinda the way Yahoo Mail works)
Does anyone know if that is possible ? (And have you seen an example if it is ?)
