I'm looking for an algorithm to determine to what degree one 2d object looks like another. What I have in mind is this: Take object A (right) find its center. Take object B and find its center. Overlay the two objects so the centers in the same position. Take object B and vectorize it as much you can. Take the normal vectors of every vector in B and find its distance to object A or intersection distance with another vector in object B. average the distances and you have to what degree they're different. Does anyone have anything else in mind that would be faster? This is going to go into a program were it will be called many many times so it needs to be wicked fast.
