Date: 03/15/07 (Computer Help)    Keywords: virus

I've got a file on my comp I can't seem to remove. at least according to mcafee virus scan. Its called "generic pup.g". I've looked on line, but the cleaning process seems quite involved and i'm worried about screwing up my computer. I've run spybot as well and it does not detect it at all. SO could someone walk me through the steps? I'm using Windows XP.
