Flash Drive Fried?

Date: 09/04/05 (Computer Help)    Keywords: no keywords

Here's the whole sad story: I spilled a large amount of liquid (Yoo-Hoo to be exact) on my HP Pavilion dv1000. The computer shut down and won't start back up - that I know is to be expected. I did take out the fan and dried the keyboard and it still won't start.

But here is where my question is - at the time I had a flash drive (geek squad) in the usb port. The liquid did not spill on it, however I can not access it on my desktop or work laptop. Was this somehow fried by a power surge or something? Any way that I could get the information off there?
