password issues on appleworks

    hello...

i'm running mac OS X and a few months ago, i put password locks on some of my documents. i used a password that i use for a lot of things so there was no way i'd forget it. but i tried to open one of them a few days ago and it kept saying the password was wrong. i tried everything i could think of and nothing worked. all the others that require passwords are fine; the password works and everything. but i don't know what to do about the one that won't open. i tried to figure out how i could change it or...find out what the password must be set as, but i can't. i've been using a mac for a year now and i've figured a lot of stuff out but i still am not nearly as familiar with this operating system as i am with windows so it's harder for me to get to the bottom of things. so if anybody can suggest anything, i'd be very grateful.

also, if anyone knows if there's a way to password protect documents that open in, like, text edit...that would be awesome. thanks.
