Date: 03/19/05 (Computer Geeks) Keywords: no keywords I have a WLAN which uses all Linksys equipment for my modem, router, PCI cards, PCMCIA cards, etc. Ihave two WAP's one is Linksys and the other is Dlink. My wlan is locked down by WPA-SPK, TKIP passwords and verifies by MAC address well recently I wanted to turn of SSID broadcast because I do not like the idea of it floating around. I turn off my SSID and I instantly loose my WLAN however my LAN stays up and running. I turn SSID broadcast back on and the WLAN comes back up instantly. Why is it doing this? Is it a bit excessive of me to turn off SSID with all the other stuff in place? Source: http://www.livejournal.com/community/computergeeks/639582.html
