Ad Noise!

I apologize if this issue has already been addressed, but I couldn't seem to find anything right away.

Noises from Internet Ads have been really pissing me off, especially on on text-based game I play (Kings of Chaos), where there's this ad in which you're supposed to ZAP a fly to win something. Anyways, this fly makes the most obnoxiously loud and nervewracking buzz I've ever heard, and I don't know how to prevent the noise from playing on my computer without muting all noise entirely. I'd like to be able to listen to music while surfing the internet, free from ad noise, but this doesn't seem to be possible.

Is anyone aware of a way I can isolate noise made by anything within Internet Explorer and mute it without muting my iTunes?
