I recently started learning how to use tables. I've made a couple tables already that worked fine but the one I'm working on right now is giving me fits. I'm trying to post this table to my journal using the update journal page, when I check the preview everything looks fine but when I look at the actual post all the colors I used are gone. Hey there, I'm new! I'm hoping you guys can help me with what seems to be an easy thing to do, but... well, I'm slow.

I'm trying to disable the downloading (right click+save target as, etc) of some videos I have that are on a website. I have the videos displayed in popups, which works perfectly fine and everything, but I can't figure out how to disable the ability to actually download the videos to the users hard drive and all that junky stuff. I've tried changing permissions via CHMOD but obviously that hasn't worked, eek... I have no idea where to start!

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help!

Hey just wondering if anyone here knows of where to find code I know I saw before but can't seem to find now and heck can't recall if it's dhtml or java or just reg html....

I need to have a text box pop up when you hover your mouse over a word like how trillian does it with def's for certain words and what not just for html. Know I've seen it before. I don't want a annoying windows box pop up or anything like that just a small box to appear until the mouse moves away from the word.

Once again I reiterate I am not looking for a popup window. Just a small simple box hovers till you move your mouse away.

I just set up my new journal and I used the same format as my last journal, but for some reason my friends page isn't working.  Everytime I try to view it it says this.

Disasterous might have friends defined, but all of their friend's posts might be over two weeks old (according to the times on our servers), and thus wouldn't be displayed here. However none of these apply.

I've recently taken on the task of creating a layout, and finding myself with more trouble coding it than I bargained for. XD;

I thought it was all finished, but now it shows up differently in different resolutions. I've created it in div aligns (as tables freak me out), and it looks fine in IE6, 800x600. 

Now my friend uses Firefox, with a huge resolution, and she gets this:

Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Is there an easy code to just stick an image to the bottom left without messing with the coding I already have?

Hey everyone,

I didn't think this was possible, but can you have too many drop down menus on one page? I'm doing a website that requires 12 drop down menus and I've each menu on its own form. When I get to drop down menu 6 it no longer works. In fact, when you make your selection from drop down menu 6 it submits the first value in every drop down menu > 6! I don't understand this. I'm using an OnChange event for each menu:

OnChange="javascript:document.dropdownmenuX.submit()

Why is it that my first 5 drop down menus work perfectly, then when you get to menu 6 it no longer works correctly?

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me with some probably very simple html.

I want to put a code into one of my journal posts, so that people can see it, and copy-paste it or whatever. I've just stupidly posted the entire thing and obviously LJ has converted it into the actual table, instead of just the original code in a text format. (It's just a simple code for an icon table, if that's important).

Can anyone tell me a way of keeping the code as it is? I've tried looking in the LJ FAQs and it said something about using a raw tag but I really am such a html newbie I couldn't get it to work.

Ideally I'd love to know how to make one of those small boxes that you can use to hold long codes, and people can just scroll down them and highlight the lot.

And help is greatly appreciated; thanks in advance!

Hello,

Is there a way to make a drop down menu in html NOT be the width of it's longest element? I want to have a horizontal scroll bar so you can still see that longest element, but I can't figure out how it is done. Any ideas?

I'm interested in using a SSI call for my site's navigation system, and was curious if anybody could give me a few pointers on how to do this.

Most SSI that I've used has been a random HTML script line-call, so I'm a little uncertain how to proceed with setting up a file that can:

Have img src with imagemap attributes.

This SSI call will be implemented in normal HTML pages, Agoracart, PostNuke, and perhaps WordPress.

Advice is most appreciated.
