how do i convert bmp to jpg? photobucket does it but stupid livejournal still won't take my new userpic. i tried doing it in paint and i even looked through the help section. i'm about to throw my computer out the window. so help please.

In tutorials like this one, how do I get the colors such as "#FF005A " to be the correct color in photoshop? I have PS Limited Edition, so maybe it's different, but I just want to know if there's a way I can get the exact color that is in the tutorial to work in photoshop.

I just changed the layout on my LJ and now the grey menu bar got so big, that the top picture of my layout can't be seen...
I just don't know how to get it small again...
and the friends page does not show correctly

and the second thing is, I have tried so many different layouts now and none of them worked correctly on my LJ
one time the BG was not there, then there were menu parts missing, ....
can anyone tell me what is wrong there?

k this isn't exactly an html issue but i'm trying to change my user pic and it keeps telling me it won't accept bmp format... so i changed it to jpg using photobucket. and it's still telling me that. it's a jpg file, i'm absolutely sure of it... so what the hell.

A few HTML questions...

1.) How do i remove the white letterbox like border from the top and bottom of my page?
(i used an old code and sorta doctored it to how i wanted)
2.) How do i make a text menu at the top of the page?
3.) How do i center my icon?




where each menu option is bolded depending on what page u are on.
[for example, if you are on the friends page, "friends" would be bolded-only.]

I'm sorry to be a nuisance, but I'm supposed to be opening a community for Tuesday, but busy-ness & procrastonation have got the best of me. I haven't even started the user-info yet, but now that I want to, codes aren't working.

I tried using the userinfo html that is posted here to make the userinfo look presentable like this.

After I entered all the stuff in, once I looked at my userinfo nothing was there.

I was wondering if someone could: tell me what I'm doing wrong, help me with a better code which includes color editing or anything of that nature.

I was wondering if someone could be ever so kind enough to help/make me a code for my layout? I am totally lost about how to do it. I keep trying but end up with nothing and frusrated. I'd like a layout like this http://tragic-icons.livejournal.com/ (meaning I want a header and background) I have my own header graphic I designed and I can change the color codes to whatever I want myself I just don't know how to make the codes to get the look like on this site (http://tragic-icons.livejournal.com/). Also instead of having the nagivation the way it is on the tragic icon journal I'd like it to be just one line, like a strip of links. Sorry if I sound random but any help is deeply appreciated!

i recently switched daisycake to a "plus account." right now i don't really have enough money for a paid account (i used to have one), so i thought advertisements and being able to make phone posts and stuff would be a fair trade. but this change totally fucked up the layout of my journal. the entries used to be thinner and centered, not it's spread out over like the whole page so you can hardly see the background. is there any way to make it go back to the way it was, or do i have to just get a paid account?

i doubt that made sense. woopee.

Hey. Okay my problem: I made an image map for a website navigation menu. It worked perfectly. Then I tried to make the background image of another site into an image map, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that without screwing up my html coding.
