Hi-

I noticed that when I open my LJ in Mozilla Firefox, the journal content is no longer centered, but rather on the left side of the page; in IE, it was centered. It's Generator style in S1, which should be centered naturally, so I'm a little confused on what happened. Is there any way to fix it and make the content boxes centered? Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to make a sidebar, however the sidebar is appearing under my header and not ontop of it. I'm not exactly sure why. Could anyone help me?

EDIT: Also, for some reason my image maps never work in IE but they work in firefox. I have no idea what's going on with that either.

I'm not sure if this is where I should post my problem, but I'll give it a shot.

I'm developing a php website and I need to pass some values to a pop-up window. The user enters their information like their name, age, and address into a form. When they press the submit I want that information to be displayed in a pop-up window. I can get a pop-up window to appear but using $_POST does not work. I've been doing some searching and have seen something about using $_GET and appending the values to the URL but I want to try and avoid that.

Any help would be great thanks :)

When writing my entries, to do the equivalent of < p > tag (minus the spaces) in order to start a new paragraph, I find that I have to press the enter button three times instead of the twice, to miss one whole line.
I have no idea what it is in my layout codes that does that.

To, to make this new paragraph, I would had to press the enter button three times. I've been looking at my customisation html codes and I can't find anything that would affect this. Can anyone who knows what I'm supposed to look for give me a bit of help and point out exactly which bit of code is affecting this by doing view source? Please help! I'd be so so grateful and thanks for looking!

Probably a very stupid question with a very easy answer, but I've been trying this for several days now and I'm about to give up, seeing as I'm not too familiar with coding.

I'm trying to get my profile page like this: a 600x240 image, small text underneath it, also 600 in width, justified. (fizzy-lifting's profile would be a good example of this.) I managed everything of that, except the justification. It just won't work out.

With the ending codes as well, of course.

So I can do graphics. I can make my own layout graphics no problem but I don't know how to code at all. My knowledge of html is limited to inserting images and adding links to entries.

Here's what I want to do:

-Add this (click to see) banner/header above my journal entries. It would be aligned left and my entries would be aligned left under it.
-Add this background (click to see) seperately from the header as my livejournal background.
-Add a sidebar for personal information and fun things. You can see in my background above that I've defined a space for the sidebar using lines.
-Add these dividers (click here to see) into my siderbar.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to do this. More specifically: I just need someone to code this layout for me because I don't know how.

Hi I've just joined this community & this is my first question. I consider myself an HTML novice, just so you know.

I'm trying to make the user profile of a community I maintain more user friendly. In that vein, I'd like to install little tags/links/jumps (not sure of the right term) so that right underneath the large writing which demands that you read the rules, "So READ THEM" there will be little clickable words which will take you directly to the section of the page you want to read: emergency, rules, warning, maintainers. and then at the end of each section a little word/tag/jump/whatever that says "back to top".

Basically, I need to know the code for doing both the "go to"s and the "back to top"s.

I hope this makes sense to someone here!

I have so many questions so I'll start with a story.

I got this Mars Layout and everything is ok... but there's stuff I want, that I can't get.
It's S1 Punguin elegant w/ Sidebar. +Account
How do I.. get a code (I guess that's what I'm saying) that will put a blurb and also let me put links on the Sidebar.
I tried figureing out these codes on my own but I'm a vary simple person and couldn't get them to work.

On a different journal I have: S2 Notepad. +Account
I want to have a BackGround picture above my journal. I can get the picture in just fine but I can't get the journal to move down. I keep messing with "Margin size on the top of the content area" and "Size of borders around entries" but nothing seems to happen. I just want a simple little picture, is that to much to ask? ;.;

That's all really. I'd be so glad if anyone can help.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this whole html thing and have been teaching myself the language for the last month or so. I've got a bit of an advanced question..or at least I think it's advanced since I can't find anything about it out there in google-land. My problem is that I have 2 drop down menus on my website. The second menu gets populated based on what the user selects from the first menu. When I make a selection from any of the drop down menus the ENTIRE page refreshes. I don't want this to happen...especially when the user makes a selection from the first menu and the second is populaed. I want the form to be submitted without refreshing the entire darn page. Is there a way that I can make this happen?
