Secret Logs?

Okay, I've heard that everything - history, cookies, programs, everything - is saved on your computer for others to access it. For instance, if I install "MSN Messenger," then un-install it, it still remains on my computer in a "secret" sort of place.

Anyways, besides clearing my history, cache, etc. is there any way to access these "secret" logs and clear them (if they do in fact exist)? I'd imagine they'd take up a great deal of space.

    Thanks. :)
