the red dot of doom

    Date: 12/12/07 (Mozilla)    Keywords: browser

Ever since upgrading to the newest version of firefox, I will get the "red dot of doom" as graphic files are loading, instead of the regular placeholder graphic that browsers, including firefox, usually have.

In the past, this meant that the cache was full. Once you emptied it and restarted firefox, everything would be fine.

Now, it seems to show up arbitrarily. My cache will be nowhere near full (4 MB with a 150 MB limit.) However, if I exit out of firefox and start it back up again, it is fine.

Has anyone else been having this problem? (I'm on windows xp sp2) I'm also using the noscript and download helper add-ons.
