Forms Calling a Function

    Date: 09/22/05 (PHP Community)    Keywords: no keywords

    I have encountered a situation that perhaps you fine folk can assist me on.

    I am trying to use a remote function (whether it's local or remote doesn't matter in this case) and I am curious as to the best way to call it. Here is an example.

    include("functions.php");
    ?>

    Add a Category

    I am trying to call the function createCategory found within functions.php. However, I don't know how best do this. Should I just call it within the action portion (which doesn't seem to matter as php runs it as the page loads anyway removing the purpose of the action property) or should I have it call the same page but put an IF statement to handle the logic of whether it should be called or not?

    I know I'm wording this horribly, but any advice would be great. I'm just not sure how best to accomplish these sorts of things without using bad coding habits.
