A question about totaling and summing with Crystal Reports
Date: 08/15/08
(SQL Server) Keywords: software
Hi. I am currently using a stripped-down version of CR 8.0 integrated into a software platform called SysPro.
I'm trying to pull out some timecard information for multiple people, organized by employee, then date, then job#. I've put it in and all of the names and times are pulling correctly.
HOWEVER. I also need to calculate the Regular Pay Time and Overtime from these numbers. Currently, I've got a Summary of my Total Time (which is calculated from four different time fields in each record) in my Group #1 Footer, which gives the correct amount of total hours.
What I'd like to do is create two formula fields that calculate out RT and OT (regular time<=40 hours).
What I imagine for these fields is something like the following:
Regular time: if {Sum of @Total Time} > 40 then "40"
Overtime: If {Sum of @Total Time} >40 then {@Total Time} - 40
Of course, the problem here is that I cannot insert a Summary field into this equation the way I would a calculation field.
Anyone have any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Firewall(s)?
Date: 11/13/11
(Computer Help) Keywords: software
Do I need a software firewall in addition to a hardware (wireless router) firewall? The reason I ask is that I've been trying to configure lauded firewall Comodo off-and-on all weekend (so that it gets along with other applications), but with limited success. Previously, I used Zone Alarm as software firewall, but it was causing my whole computer to slow down given various circumstances. Since installing Comodo, it has blocked zero intrusions which means that either it's junk (which doesn't seem likely, given how often it's recommended on various sites) or that my wireless router is doing its job. Thoughts? Thanks.

OpenSolaris vs. Solaris
Date: 12/17/09
(IT Professionals) Keywords: software, linux
I have some software that does some translation from UTF-8. In Solaris the product has always run fine, but in OpenSolaris I see an error:
ld.so.1: someprogram: fata: relocation error: file someprogram: symbol_iconv_open: referenced symbol not found
Now, from what I have found out is that Solaris used a system call called: _iconv_open
and most Linux use a similar system call in libc called: iconv_open
But apparently there is a slight difference between Solaris and OpenSolaris, which causes this issue.
Does any have ANY knowledge of this? Somewhere I can look to confirm this hypothesis?
Thanks

Can anyone recommend a fairly professional forum hosting service? I am looking for one for a client of mine. In the past I have ran a forum (phpbb) for their site and it becomes an administrative nightmare (updating software, making sure antispam software is updated, spammers, hacks, backups...) after a few months. Honestly, I want to be able to do as little as possible and just pay someone to handle the software side. I can get administrators to weed out spam and moderate.
Thanks

Hi,
I have tried to find tags, but failed. Are there tags to search the previous posts?
If not, I'll just ask my question. I am looking for personal finances software with the following attributes:
1. free
2. simple (I only need to track income and expenses + calculate totals for a week/month/year)
3. can accomodate at least two accounts (in my case I need it for personal use + for my freelancing activity)
4. compatible with Windows XP
5. allows export/print out
Nothing I have found so far meets all the requirements. Please help!
Thanks!
