Color theory literature

I was wondering if you might have some insight for this request: a co-worker has asked for recommended reading/visual material on books about graphics and the world of visual design, mostly focusing on color theory aspects as well as the usability aspects of interfaces. No books have directly influenced me and I can't think of any one in particular at all. Edward Tufte gets tossed around a bit... any help in this regard? I appreciate your kind input and recommendations - for myself also :) x-posted a little...
