transparent css dropdown menu

    hello everyone,
i am trying to figure out the best way in css to make a navigation menu that uses transparent pngs for the links, but also has dropdown subnav items (also transparent images).

i know i'll have to use some javascript for the IE6 transparency, but i really want to keep this as clean as possible. i've searched google and a list apart - i know about image sprites, the suckerfish menu, and the transparency javascript, but how do i combine the drop down with the image transparency? i just can't get my mind around this one. any help would be so greatly appreciated.

    thanks!
