Date: 06/14/05 (Computer Help) Keywords: software The other day I found a laptop that was discarded with some junk and decided to try my luck. It's a Compaq Presario 1500 and it seemed to be in good working order, and I have used it for a few days. However, this evening while I was using it, it froze and then wouldn't restart. Every time I turned it on it would go on, but just go to a black screen and windows wouldn't start. Eventually the computer would just shut off automatically. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what the problem could be. I'm not really sure if it's a hardware or software problem.
