Same program, two faulty disks?

I decided to mess with one of my photo editing programs called PhotoImpression 5 and everytime that I clicked on the option to place text on my image, the program stalled then gave me an error message about a problem occuring and having to shutdown. So I decided to uninstall the program and then used the original disc to reinstall it. I do the whole process again with the program and again I run into the same problem. I uninstall it once more and I install the program again using a different disk of the same program and the same problem occured. What I want to know is what can be causing this problem? I used the same discs, on different occasions to install the program in the past and nothing like this ever happened then. Is it the fonts that are screwing it up? My pc? The program itself? My other image programs (psp9 and cs2) dont do this when I use the fonts to place text on my images so Im really confused about what the hells goin on. If any one has any solutions or suggestions to fix this problem on my own or with help, please feel free to throw em my way. Thanks a lot for the help in advance, I really appreciate the effort.
