Hi, I created a website for a class, and I decided to put it online. I made it in Dreamweaver and now the images aren't showing up on my page.. I don't have Dreamweaver on my laptop and was wondering if I could fix the problem without using Dreamweaver!

hey guys, this is my first time ever posting in this community, so i figured i'd see if anyone knew how to do the things i can't figure out. these all are in reference to livejournal.

oh yeah, and one more thing! does anyone either 1. have a token they want to give up to someone who wants to change their username? or 2. know how i can get one WITHOUT paying $15??

First of all, I want to say sorry for posting this in multiple places but I need all the help I can get.

I am a novice webmaster. I learned most of what I know by clicking view source, seeing where people had text, adding my own and slightly modifying those pages. Therefore, saying that I don't know what I'm doing is an understatement. I usually find programs to do the things I need to get done like menus (deluexe menues), web dwarf and my latests installment, Dreamweaver 8 which I have no freaking clue how to use to it's full potential.

My club's webpage needs serious work. One issue is the menu. Since it's from a program, it says trial menu on top of it, disabling people from clicking the links. Two is the overall layout. It's boring, it's plain. I want to stick to the color scheme of red, black and white. I'm having alignment problems, browser problems (looks one way in IE vs Firefox) and a whole medley of other problems. My club has a forum which I've been posting screen caps of the mistakes in the website and pleading for help. Turns out, I'm practically the only one who knows how to do anything web wise which meant I'm on my own. I had one guy reply but due to my lack of knowledge, he was way over my head.

I humbly beg for some form of assistance from you kind and gentle people. I was given some code by an acquaintance to put a grey background around the icons I wanted to display. I posted it to my LJ for future reference here and tried to alter it a little bit to better suit my needs. Apparently I changed something that I shouldn't have or didn't change something that I should have when I altered it. I tried not to mess about with it too much since I'm not HTML savvy, but I would really like some help figuring out what I did wrong so my LJ will load right. Could someone take a look at the code and see what's wrong.

The original code can be found in the comments here, though I'd love to know how he made the little box the code came in but I'm a bit afraid to ask. :)

This is complicated to explain. Let's say I have an audio file, MP3, that is a direct link to a song. If I post it as <a href="blah.mp3">blah</a>, and the link is clicked, it will open directly to a media player. How do I edit the link so that when it is clicked, it will request to be downloaded (like the "open" .. "save as" request box..)

Hey!
I need help with a few myspace codes.
The layout of this account doesn't work with firefox. The whole background is red and not as it should be (and as you can see when opening the page with IE) yellow in the middle. That's why you can't see parts of the writing.

Mmkay, so I'm usually pretty decent with my coding skeelz - but I can't seem to find what I need, nor can I seem to find it anywhere.

I've seen it done before, when you go to a profile, there will be thumbnails of peoples friends, or whatever, and then when you hover over a thumbnail, to the left / right / upper center / lower center of the area in which the thumbnails are located - a larger version of the same picture shows up.

I can't seem to describe it, and I can't find a page that had it, and it's making me kind of angry. I know that there's a way to do that with your entire proflie, but instead of just pictures, you can have links that change the information that's on your page, so if you click on where it says 'about me' to the left / right / upper center / lower center, you get your about me, same with 'who i'd like to meet' and things of the like

I fail at explaining, but either of the two codes would be fantastic, that - or I've got weeks worth of Goole-ing ahead of me.

Ok, hopefully I can explain this clear enough...what I'm trying to do it post these banners actually on my music myspace page to let other people use to put on their website. Hello,

I have a drop down menu where one of the items is EXTREMELY long, and because of this, the overall size of the drop down box is the size of this item. I found a way to shrink the size of the drop down box via:




This works in shrinking the overall size, but what happens is that the really long item is now longer than the width of the box and the text for the item doesn't wrap around down to the line below. So you don't actually see the whole item in the list.

Do you know how I can wrap this item so that the text falls down to the line below?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I couldn't find anything in the memories to help me, so yeah...

In the S1 style, is there anyway to move the Generator style down like in the S2 format so my header doesn't get totally covered by my entries?

If not, could someone tell me how to add just a header in the S2 style? My codes show up in S1, so I know they work, but when I transfer styles, all I get is this huge blank spot at the top of my journal.
