I tried to google around for this, but I think I'm using the wrong terms. Is there any way to have links on a page that you can click to change the text on that page? For example, if I have a column with text in it, and link1, link2, link3, and link4 at the bottom, is there a way for each of those links to load new text into the column rather than leading to a new page? This is probably going to be posted to a LJ profile or entry, if that makes a difference.

I feel like such a dumbass for not being able to find the answer to this somewhere.

I was wondering whether there's any way to hide the text description of the mood (i.e. curious) and just have the moodtheme image?

I use S2, but just use custom css (I haven't set up a style or layer); I can post it if needed.

This is my website.

In Firefox, it looks exactly how I want it to. I know it's frames heavy, but back when I learned how to make websites 10 years ago, simple html and frames were the norm, so I have very very limited knowledge of styles, scripts, etc.

I would love for my site to show up the same way in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome as it does in Firefox. For some reason, the pages that are not frames within frames (bio, links, and contact) do not display. The only thing I have found that made any kind of change to this problem is that I have a code to force orphan pages into the original frameset, and when I took that out of those three pages, 2/3 of them displayed on IE, but not Chrome. I have the same code on the photo and video pages (which are frameset pages), so I don't know what the deal is. Taking it out didn't fix it completely anyways, so I guess that's not the problem?

I've looked at it, and I've googled the problem, but I can't seem to pin point the problem. The photo menu and video menu do not display the way I want them to on IE and Chrome either, but I don't care as much about that. I just want all of my content to show up, in a reasonably organized fashion.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm a poweruser of illustrator, photoshop, and inDesign, but I'm learning flash and Dreamweaver right now.  I have a lot of experience also in print. 

I've joined lynda and adobeTv, which are great, and doing an awful tutorial :D   We've been working on Div's, etc, and controlling atributes through CSS, common stuff.

Sadly, my professor is only half an ass-burger, the wrong half. (If he really was autistic in place of his 'personality' I'd be much better off.)

Anyway, I would like to target certain areas in the tutorials but I don't know the vocabulary to 'look-up' yet.  Could someone or some people suggest some search terms, I'm happy to try to answer all my questions on my own.... I've decided that no matter what I will learn this stuff!

One question has to do with 'wrappers' - exactly something about that.  Mostly been working on 'positioning', I have some questions on how the closing nesting tags work - are they arbitrary, or specific, regardless of text?  I assume it is basically 'code', and there is no assignments I do not see there.  

I had lots of problems with jpgs etc, repopulating on the server-side - because my early redirects were to  /documents not to the file defined via 'site' - so I could see stuff on my system but not from a remote computer - scary!  I guess I will get a dedicated machine and have it always fitted with an uncluttered file system - but other suggestions?  It helped me discover the broken-link panel, that was exciting.....

Hello!

I'm helping a friend to build up a pages she's basing of wordpress. Her wish is to have a menu on the right which would have a picture (something like 50x50) and text next to it and both woudl link to a certain page (inside of her page). Its not exactly recent posts option so i figured if anything i'd need to use the text option and write the html myself.

And here comes the problem. I can make both and my friend is more or less happy which what i made but i'm not happy with what i got.

Hi guys~ I'm having an invisible code problem. I am building a Twilight website for my sister (I know you guys will say something about that XD). Anyway, I inserted meta tags, and it's working. However, when I google it, I get this:

The description tag is this: openbracket meta name="description" content="Coming soon to a theater near YOU!" / closebracket. (I can't put < > or LJ won't show it).

I used to have an AdBrite box on this page, but I removed all of the coding for it. In my recent HTML page the words "Your Ad Here" do not exist. I tried to clear my cache, but it keeps showing up. Where is this invisible coding?? Thank you.

PS: I know it's spelled with one "l" but that was taken.

I'm usually pretty good with the HTML codes but I cannot figure this thing out. I'm really at the end of my rope here but I'm a determined little brat and would really like to figure it out.

So here's the problem,
I've seen people insert like a...for lack of a better word, table, into their posts. To describe it, it's like a box that people put a code in. Most often it's got some html code in it. And I was wondering how in the heck they did that.

PLEASE help me somebody! I'm begging you over here, it's driving me NUTS.

I created 2 HTML tables and wrote

<table align="left" width="300" cellpadding="5" border="0">

to get the second table to align next to it.

But when I paste it into my LJ profile it doesn't work - I was wodnering is there any tags or anything I need to add to make this regualr HTML work on my profile?

Also by using the align left function the 2 tables aren't right next to each other, there is a little gap - how do I get rid of that too.
