Input Variables - Accepted Method

    I do the following in my PHP code:

    " tabindex="1" />

    This works, though doesn't strike me as acceptable, since anything in the quotes for the value should probably be read as-is.

    Is there another standard for doing what I'm doing that is more widely accepted? Or is what I'm doing perfectly acceptable in the PHP community?
